Welcome to Our Kindergarten Remediation Program!

This program is designed to give struggling students an extra- boost on their way to first grade. It is used in conjunction with their regular Kindergarten classroom.

In the past, our students who were in jeopardy of being held back a second year, ended up achieving amazing goals. The majority of them tested out in the middle to end of first grade level in math and reading, prior to entering first grade. Our students are confident super readers and math whizzes!

Our Program Goals

  • To provide early intervention for students with learning differences.
  • To effectively remediate students with reading, spelling, handwriting, and math weaknesses.
  • To create eager and successful lifelong learners.

Our Teaching Methods

Our program combines Lindamood Bell LIPS® Program techniques in phonemic awareness, Orton-Gillingham based reading and spelling methods, creativity from the British Letterland System, and Slingerland handwriting techniques.

This unique program creates a strong foundation for our students to experience academic success. All of our methods are scientifically based and every lesson is organized in a logical and sequential way. In this program, we are addressing a wide range of academic standards, including:

  • Phonemic awareness
  • Proper letter names and sounds
  • Printing concepts
  • Literary response
  • Reading comprehension
  • Spelling
  • Writing strategies and application

Our students also receive help with Touch Math, a multi-sensory program that uses its signature Touch Points to engage math students of all abilities and learning styles. As a part of this program, we are addressing the following standards:

  • Single digit addition
  •  Single digit subtraction
  • Writing numbers to 20
